I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly happening.
